Christmas Pie

I choose to make a fudge pie and a buttermilk pie for desert. I encourage everyone to check out the Miss Mary Bobo's Cookbook for some good ol' Southern recipes!

Super Easy Pinwheels!

This is a quick and easy snack to make.      1 package hot sausage. I used Wrights Sausage, cooked & crumbled      1 8oz package cream cheese, softened       2 eight count roll crescent rolls  Drain and cool sausage. Mix softened cream chees and sausage together and let set at room temp for about 30 minutes. Using one can at a time, roll out crescent dough so it is a solid sheet making sure to seal all the perforations. Spead half cream cheese mixture over dough. Roll into a log and put in fridge. Repeat with next can of dough. Remove first roll and cut into. 1/2 inch rounds. Bake 14-16 minutes. I keep the remaining dough in the fridge because it's easier to cut. Yummy

Surin of Thailand:

It has been a while since I have eaten at Surin on Airport Road. I had lunch there today with a friend and wow it was really good. I had the Spicy Beef Salad which had three peppers so I knew I would like it. Sliced, grilled beef served over a bed of romaine lettuce with onions, cucumbers and sautéed tomatoes and tossed with a delicious spicy vinaigrette. It made my mouth sing and was a great deal for lunch. The salad plus a cup of their signature tofu coconut soup for $8. You can't hardly beat that. Wash it down with a Thai Tea and you are good to go. They really have stepped up their game since my last visit and I will definitely be back for more!

Thai Garden

Thai Garden is located on the corner of Wellman and Andrew Jackson in Five Points. This has been one of my favorite spots for years. They offer a variety of authentic Thai dishes. I had the Pad Thai with vegetables medium spicy. I'm not brave enough to try the native Thai spicy! I will admit that the aroma is both yummy and a little gym sock at that same time.. which equals delicious. I also recommend the Tom Yum Pak soup. It's loaded with veggies and has a lemon and fish sauce tang to it. They have everything from rice dishes, noodle dishes and curry dishes. Give Thai Garden a try for dependable delicious food.

Supper Hero's

This is a great little place off Winchester Road but still in the city limits. It is a family place with a super hero theme. Comic books, action figures and movies on the flat screen entertain while waiting for your grub. The menu offers salads, sandwiches, burgers  & daily specials. We started with fried green tomatoes and a medley of deviled eggs. The tomatoes were awesome and came with a horseradish and a spicy sweet dipping sauce. The eggs were very good. You don't usually have eggs as an appetizer option! I had the Fungus Among Us burger which was delicious and Hubby with Mama had the Meatloaf wrapped in bacon. The flavor was different but great. I can't wait to go back! They have a Facebook page. I recommend checking it out!
